San Vigilio Marebbe - Enneberg
San Vigilio di Marebbe is a small village in the mountains, in the heart of the Val Badia; with an elevation of 1.200 m above sea level it can look back on a long tradition spanning a few thousand years. About 2000 years ago, the Ladin language was created through the melting of the Roman and Rhaetian culture. This language survived over the years and is still spoken nowadays by the inhabitants, who are very conscious of their tradition, their identity, their language, culture, mentality and unique cuisine.
San Vigilio is the main village of the municipality Marebbe, along with Rina and Longega. San Vigilio has the typical alpine appearance, based on the small wooden houses of simple architecture. Speaking of this, the church of San Vigilio is a real baroque piece of art.
A special attraction is the Viles, small (housing stocks) residential areas of typical farmhouses. These represent the oldest kind of settlements of Alta Badia.

The nature park Fanes Sennes Prags, directly located next to San Vigilio di Marebbe; which is filled with beautiful lakes, hiking trails, bloomy meadows and an invaluable variety of flora and fauna. Rare animals like the golden eagle, the Capricorn, the marmot and chamois have their home here.
This park is to be admired during a placid excursion or a mountain bike tour.

In summer and winter San Vigilio offers an enormous number of possibilities to pursue ones hobbies or just relax.

There is something for everyone’s taste: from swimming to tennis, from billiard to basketball, from bowling to fishing.
In winter, when the landscape turns into a beautiful snow-paradise, it’s time for young and old to get on the slopes.
In Pespesc you have the possibility to practice cross-country skiing, the classic style or also the skating style.
Another special highlight is the snow-sculpture-festival in San Vigilio, which takes place in January every year. Artists from many different nations give their fantasy and creativity no limits and shape huge snow cubes into impressive sculptures.
Events and concerts, theme evenings as well as art- and craftsman – exhibitions and sports competitions take place in summer. These events and village fairs contribute to the conservation of the old traditions and are of course always a welcome occasion to enjoy the culinary specialties like „Crafuns“, „Panicia“, honey, grappa, speck and cheese.
