Valdaora, a community of the autonomic province of Bozen, embedded in the valley of the upper Val Pusteria at an altitude of ca. 1.000 m.
With it’s four local parts Sorafurcia, Valdaora di Sotto, Valdaora di Mezzo and Valdaora di Sopra, is this community nowadays one of the most appreciated and visited vacation areas.
Between willows and plains, dark forests and romantic mountains, you find the charming Valdaora. Northbound you see the Valle di Anterselva with it’s gruppo Vedrette di Ries, the glacier Collalto, and from the east to the west there runs the green valley of the Val Pusteria, surrounded by the imposing mountain peaks of the Dolomites.

Hiking fans can climb one or the other peak, take a walk on one of the countless trails or visit one of the nature parks Fanes – Sennes – Prags or Vedrette di Ries.
By foot, or with the mountain bike, you will experience unforgettable moments.

In winter Valdaora is a real paradise for all winter-sport enthusiasts. The numerous
skiing areas in the immediate vicinity and the short distance to the slopes of Plan de Corones, promise all ski and snowboard fans the highest rate of pleasure. The sledge slope, one of the most modern in the world, is equipped with an illumination system, which allows sledging by night.
Long lasting traditions and customs are still lived as a personal emotion in this area. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the parish church, Preindler chapel, the restored lime furnace in Valdaora di Sotto, the Egidio church in Valdaora di Mezzo, the church S. Maria and the Roman milestone in Valdaora di Sopra.
Who visits Valdaora during the months July and August, should join the famous „Standlschmaus“, a street festival in the center of Valdaora.
